NFL fines Titans left tackle $30,000 for touching official
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee left tackle Taylor Lewan has been fined $30,000 for making contact with an official, and he plans to appeal.
Lewan confirmed Thursday that he learned of the fine Wednesday.
The third-year tackle was ejected on the first drive of the Titans' second possession in last week's 47-25 win over Green Bay. He took exception to Green Bay defensive tackle Letroy Guion hitting Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota on a play that drew Guion a penalty flag. Back judge Steve Freeman was trying to break up the players when Lewan brushed the official's hands away.
Lewan was replaced by Dennis Kelly and watched the rest of the game from the Tennessee locker room.
