Elk Grove Township plans to sell youth services building

Elk Grove Township has scheduled a special town meeting next Monday to consider the sale of the township's youth services building in Mount Prospect.

Township officials have been negotiating with DiMucci Companies since May on a sale of the building at 401 W. Golf Road, but a final deal must get approval from a majority of at least 15 township residents who attend the special meeting, under Illinois law.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Friendship Park Conservatory, 395 W. Algonquin Road in Des Plaines.

The sale is part of a consolidation effort township officials have been discussing since late last year.
