Animal Shelter Raises $46,000 for Homeless Animals

NORTHBROOK, ILLINOIS- On Saturday November 5, 2016, Heartland Animal Shelter hosted their annual Golden Paw Gala at Pinstripes Bocce & Bistro in Northbrook. Guests enjoyed bocce ball, a four course plated dinner, bid on items in a silent auction and participated in the Paddles for Paws live auction.

On air personality Laura Botten from US 99.5 FM helped to MC the event and local celebrity Ron Bernardi of Sunset Foods served as auctioneer for the Paddles for Paws Live Auction. Some of the items available for the live auction were a weeklong stay at Hawks Kay Resort in the Florida Keys, a Wisconsin Dells vacation package, a downtown Chicago weekend getaway package at the Drake, and Chicago Cubs tickets.

At the end of the evening, Heartland petitioned supporters for their "Fund A Need". The shelter sought funds to increase their ability to spay and neuter animals that come through their doors in order to make them available for adoption. Heartland Animal Shelter Executive Director Matt Gannon was thrilled that this year's Gala raised even more funds than last year.

"We raised over $46,000 for homeless animals at the Gala this year thanks to our amazing supporters. We truly could not do the job we do without them. It's very heartwarming to know that we have such giving people that allow us to continue our mission."
