How to avoid overparenting

The best-selling book "How to Raise an Adult: Break Free of the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kid for Success" will be the topic of a discussion hosted by Glenbard Parent Series: Navigating Healthy Families and the Glen Ellyn Public Library.

Parents of students of all ages are encouraged to join the discussion at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St., Glen Ellyn.

As part of the Glenbard Parent Series, Julie Lythcott-Haims, author of "How to Raise an Adult," will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd., Glen Ellyn.

Author Daniel Pink called "How to Raise an Adult" "the right book at the right time for parents who want to foster healthy self-reliance."
