Algonquin Garden Club offers new Diane Connelly Memorial Scholarship

At a recent Algonquin Garden Club meeting, Bill Connelly and his family presented the club with a monetary memorial in honor of his late wife Diane Connelly, past president of the club.

Diane had passed away last May after enduring a heroic battle with cancer.

Bill also informed the club of his wish to establish a perpetual scholarship in memory of Diane. This will be an addition to the clubs existing scholarship program. Club members are grateful for his generous and thoughtful memorial.

This new Diane Connelly Memorial Scholarship enables the club to enhance our philanthropic endeavors that benefit the Algonquin and surrounding communities. It is a fitting tribute to Diane who was such an integral part of the Algonquin Garden Club for many years.

Scholarships applications are available for the 2017 year. Applications and information can be found by contacting the guidance departments of Community Unit District 300 high schools as well as Marian Central High School in Woodstock.

In addition this information is available by visiting the Algonquin Garden Club Facebook page.
