Candidate just a Rauner-enabler

Gov. Bruce Rauner used his first year in office to devastate essential services that our seniors, people with disabilities and families with young children rely upon.

By manufacturing a budget crisis and killing common sense tax hikes on the super-rich that would let the state meet its urgent needs, Rauner has almost single-handedly thrown our state into crisis.

Now Rauner wants to use the fortune he made off-shoring jobs and devastating working families at his private equity firm to remove the last obstacles to control of our state government. He's already spent $20 million bolstering extremist candidates for the Illinois General Assembly like Heidi Holan, who would rubber-stamp his right-wing agenda and block any attempts to restore the services he's shredded over the past year. Fortunately, Illinois working families have a champion in Rep. Deb Conroy, who has voted against Rauner's misguided budget cuts and voted for common sense measures like expanding eligibility for childcare so that we can put Illinois to work.

On Election Day voters in this district have a choice: they can either support a champion for working families like Rep. Conroy or vote for a Rauner-enabler like Heidi Holan. For me, the choice is clear.
