Lombard Kiwanis seeks community input
The Kiwanis Club of Lombard is seeking community input as it sets both short- and long-term goals.
The Kiwanis is responsible for projects such as: Kid Picks to help parents have identification materials in case a child is missing; a Hospital Doll Project, in association with Lexington Square of Lombard, to help doctors relate to children who speak another language; Flat Apple summer activities with the Healthy Lombard Foundation; and sponsorship of a Key Club leadership program at Glenbard East High School.
The immediate goals are for the year beginning Nov. 1. The long-term goals reach to 2020.
To set its goals, the club is asking community members to share their thoughts on any or all of the following items:
• What would make our community a better place to live, work and play?
• What are some unmet needs of our community?
• What is your "wish list" for our community?
• What do you feel are the greatest barriers to community involvement for you personally?
• What do you feel would get people excited about volunteering in the community?
• What short-term existing projects could the Kiwanis Club assist with?
• What long-term existing projects could the Kiwanis Club assist with?
Comments can be mailed to Kiwanis Club of Lombard, P.O. Box 321, Lombard, IL 60148, or emailed to Carole Webber at carriewebber@aol.com by Wednesday, Nov. 30. Any questions may be directed to Webber at (630) 508-1146.
All data will be used to help fine-turn goals and define action steps. The final product will be posted on the club's website at kiwaniscluboflombard.org before January 2017
