Theatre Guild presents 'Time Stands Still'
The Village Theatre Guild in Glen Ellyn opens its 53rd season with "Time Stands Still," a timely and emotional love story by David Margulies.
The drama is about a photojournalist named Sarah, played by Debbie Ruzicka of Palatine, and her partner and foreign correspondent James, played by Tony Lage of West Chicago, as they strive to recover from the physical and psychological aftermath of a recent assignment in Afghanistan.
Sarah's editor and friend Richard, played by Rich Kropp of Glen Ellyn, desperately wants his prized photographer back on the job, but his new and awkwardly younger love interest, Mandy, played by Tina Vorreyer of Darien, causes Sarah to question her past, present and future, making her return to her former life anything but certain.
Directed by longtime Glen Ellyn resident Sue Keenan, with the help of producer Maggie Fredricks and stage manager Lisa Dolnics, the show runs at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 21 to Nov. 12, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30; Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 5 and 6; and Saturday, Nov. 12.
Tickets are $18; season tickets also are available at a discounted rate. For information, contact villagetheatreguild.org or (630) 469-8230.
