Schaumburg lawyer Dennis Murashko has been appointed general counsel to Gov. Bruce Rauner, to take effect at the end of October when the current general counsel, Jason Barclay, steps down. Murashko is currently the governor's deputy general counsel and is responsible for issues including pension reform, litigation matters and union negotiations, according to a news release Friday from the governor's office. Previously Murashko was an appellate attorney with the law firm of Jones Day and started his legal career as a law clerk to Judge Stephen F. Williams on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C.
