Mount Prospect Oktoberfest is Friday and Saturday

The Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association is holding its annual Fall Fest and Oktoberfest Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7 and 8, at the intersection of Emerson Street and Busse Avenue in downtown Mount Prospect.

The Oktoberfest event will kick off at 4 p.m. Friday. Live entertainment in the heated tent will get the party going, while people enjoy their favorite traditional German food and beverages until 11 p.m. Phenix, a German band, will perform.

Featured beers are Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest and craft beer by Revolution Brewery. The food is from Mrs. P and Me, Central Continental Bakery and Completely Nuts.

Saturday begins with the Fall Festival from 1 to 4 p.m. The fun will include hay rides, pony rides, bounce houses, pumpkin decorating, crafts and balloons, and the never-ending trick-or-treat candy line.

The second night of Oktoberfest follows from 4 to 11 p.m., again featuring Phenix.

Parking is available in the Village Hall Parking Garage, 50 S. Emerson St., and throughout downtown.
