Blackhawks cruise to 6-1 preseason win over Red Wings
Ryan Hartman, Vinnie Hinostroza, Richard Panik and Nick Schmaltz staked the Blackhawks to a 4-1 lead after two periods and coach Joel Quenneville's team went on to a 6-1 preseason victory over Detroit at the United Center on Tuesday.
Alexandre Fortin and Artem Anisimov added third-period goals to complete the Hawks' scoring.
Corey Crawford, back from the World Cup, started in net and looked extremely sharp, stopping 8 shots in 31:01. Crawford was replaced by Scott Darling, who stopped 9 shots.
Duncan Keith, in his first preseason game, assisted on the goals by Hartman and Schmaltz. Hartman scored on a rebound of Keith's shot, and Schmaltz scored by tipping in a Artemi Panarin shot.
The Hawks close out the preseason Saturday in St. Louis.
