Stevenson High School and Local Resident Team Up for Baton Rouge
Stevenson High School's Spirit Revolution is launching a supply drive to help flood victims in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where an estimated 160,000 homes, businesses and other buildings were damaged by flooding in August.
Spirit Revolution, the school's cheerleading and poms teams, will hold the supply drive Wednesday and Thursday, September 28-29. Bins will be available at the Field House and Sports Center doors where people can drop off supplies between 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day (see the list of requested items below). Local resident Mark Walton, who has three children that have graduated from Stevenson, will load a truck and drive the supplies to Baton Rouge.
"We know the Stevenson family has a long tradition of helping not only our community but others in need," said SHS Athletic Director Trish Betthauser. "We thank you in advance for your assistance." The Home Depot in Vernon Hills also is offering its assistance.
