Trump's Bolingbrook fundraiser rescheduled again
For a second time, a much-anticipated fundraiser in Bolingbrook for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has been postponed.
Citing scheduling conflicts, Trump's national campaign shifted the date from Monday to Sept. 28, two days after the first presidential debate when the Republican will face Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, an official said. The fundraiser was originally set for Sept. 12.
Seats for the event at the Bolingbrook Golf Club range from a top price of $250,000 for a couple to $1,000 for an individual.
Sponsors include Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar and executive and former gubernatorial candidate Ron Gidwitz. The fundraiser will include a luncheon and exclusive roundtable session for top-tier ticketholders.
Trump's appearance is expected to draw protesters including the local group Suburban Families Against Hate, which is heading up an online protest appealing to Claar to cancel the event. Organizers said the change in dates won't affect attendance.
