Naperville man pleads guilty to child pornography charges

A Naperville man, jailed since October on child pornography charges, could be released as soon as this afternoon.

Ryan Gutierrez, 30, of the 1000 block of Alta Vista Court, pleaded guilty Friday to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 30 months of sex offender probation. He was given credit, though, for time already served.

Gutierrez was arrested in October 2015 following an investigation that began in July, when the Naperville Police Department was looking into the sharing of child pornography files on the internet.

Assistant State's Attorney Megan McGuire told Judge Daniel Guerin on Friday that, during the investigation, police found nearly 350 pornographic videos of children on Gutierrez's computer and several more on his phone.

Gutierrez had been held on $250,000 bail since his arrest.
