Map amendment deserves your vote
The current political climate has highlighted the culture of corruption, deceit and hypocrisy which has permeated the political process across local, state and federal government for years. We cast our vote hoping our voice will be heard in spite of it all.
This election we can make a difference in Illinois politics by voting "yes" for the Independent Map Amendment. This amendment will reform the current redistricting process by taking it out of the hands of those who benefit most, the politicians. The Independent Map Amendment is a bipartisan initiative without allegiance to a political party.
As a lifelong resident of Illinois I support the Independent Map Amendment. The attempt to stop the amendment from appearing on the ballot is vigorous. The fight has gone to the Illinois Supreme Court, whose ruling will determine if the voters of Illinois get a chance to have their voices heard when they cast their vote on Nov. 8.
We deserve a process that is transparent, fair and reflects the voice of the people. The amendment must be on the ballot in November so the Illinois voter can decide how they want to effect change in Illinois politics.
