Schaumburg library to begin $1.4 million renovation

The Schaumburg Township District Library will begin a $1.4 million renovation project just after Labor Day to update the lobby and the area now identified as the Audiovisual Theatre, on the first floor of the central library at 130 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

The upgrade will result in a new program room, shelving that will ease browsing, and seating and furniture allowing patrons to collaborate.

The renovated areas also will boast increased Wi-Fi capabilities, officials say.

A floor plan of the renovated areas can be seen on the library's website at schaumburglibrary.org.

Library trustees approved the project in April and expect its completion in December.
