Island Lake board to debate pay

Island Lake trustees will meet Thursday to discuss changing the compensation elected officials receive for their service, as well as other issues. The board meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave. The mayor, trustees and clerk all receive pay based on the meetings they attend. The mayor and clerk receive small salaries as well. The pay schedule for elected officials hasn't been adjusted since the 1980s, Village Clerk Georgine Cooper said.
