Man who photographed sex abuse of child headed to prison

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) - A southern Illinois man has received a 45-year prison sentence for the production, distribution and receipt of child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Donald S. Boyce said Wednesday 34-year-old Miguel Angel Vasquez Torres of Beckemeyer admitted to repeatedly sexually abusing a minor over the course of several years and photographing the acts of abuse.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/2ayDE5E) that in May 2015, the FBI received information regarding an individual who was uploading video and image files containing child porn to an Internet storage account that belonged to Vasquez Torres. Authorities say a forensic examination of his telephone revealed about 440 images of the sexual abuse.

Vasquez Torres was ordered to pay a $300 special assessment. He will be on federal supervised release for 10 years after he is released from prison.
