Chicago White Sox hang on to beat Atlanta Braves, 5-4

The Atlanta Braves have the worst record in the major leagues, but they haven't been playing like pushovers.

After beating ace starter Chris Sale and the Chicago White Sox 11-8 Friday night, the Braves battled again on Saturday afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field.

This time around, the Sox hung on for a 5-4 interleague win.

Todd Frazier sparked the victory with a 2-run homer in the second inning, his 25th of the season, and an RBI double in the third.

Jose Abreu and Melky Cabrera added run-scoring singles in the third inning.

Like Sale, White Sox starter Jose Quintana was hit hard, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings.

Relievers Zach Duke, Matt Albers and Nate Jones held the Braves scoreless the final three innings. With closer David Robertson unavailable, Jones pitched pitched 1.1 innings to earn the save.
