Institute of Continued Learning celebrates 20 years

This year, the Institute of Continued Learning at Roosevelt University will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. ICL is an adult (ages 55 and older) program that features study groups on various subjects, social events and field trips.

Located at the Schaumburg Campus of Roosevelt University, 1400 N Roosevelt Blvd., the study groups are on various subjects such as history, current events, art, music, films, documentaries, the classics and geology, etc.

Classes are held Monday through Thursday at various times in the morning and afternoon throughout the year.

Study groups are led by member coordinators who choose their topics and do the necessary research. In addition, there is a lecture series from February to March on various topics, including political science and history.

ICL also has a travel club, book clubs and Mah Jong and bridge groups. Field trips include trips to museums, theater presentations and a Cubs game.

The annual tuition is $150 and a member may register for as many study groups and lectures as one wants. Field trips have additional fees.
