Judge won't reduce Schaumburg mom's sentence
The Cook County judge who sentenced Schaumburg resident Bonnie Liltz to four years in prison for killing her severely disabled daughter has refused to reconsider the punishment.
Judge Joel Greenblatt said Wednesday there has been "no evidence presented to this court that would cause me to change" the sentence, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
In May, Liltz pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of her 28-year-old daughter, Courtney, to whom she gave an overdose of prescription drugs. Greenblatt imposed a prison sentence despite a recommendation of probation from prosecutors.
