After budget, pass school funding reform

While Gov. Rauner, state representatives and senators are elected by some in the state or district they serve, their leadership must balance the interests and needs of the whole.

As a member of a local board of education for the past nine years, member of LEND, a local K-12 district advocacy group, and an involved citizen, I add my voice to the thousands asking for a budget to be passed by our state leaders.

It's imperative that they step up in the best interest of the people of Illinois, especially for the foundation of a great state, the public elementary, secondary and higher education system.

You must pass an education budget then immediately get back to the table and pass sustainable education funding reform for the children and stakeholders of Illinois.
