Get creative at Decorated Hat Competition at Frontier Days

Show your creativity by participating in the Arlington Heights Arts Commission's annual "Decorated Object Art Competition" for all ages that will be showcased at the annual Arlington Heights Frontier Days Festival on Sunday, July 3, at Recreation Park.

Decorate an existing hat or create an original "hat," as a group or an individual, and bring your hat to Recreation Park between noon and 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 3. The competition will be held within the park near Belmont Avenue and Miner Street, Arlington Heights. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m.

The contest is open to all ages and an entry can be designed by an individual or a group. There is no limit on the number of entries. Hats of any size or material will be accepted. Selection criteria for the winners will include: Artistic impression, originality, quality and aesthetic appeal. First and second prizes will be awarded in four categories (Adult, Youth, Child and Family and Friends) and one prize given for the winner in the People's Choice category.
