Wild schedule includes team-record 8-game homestand in Feb.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Wild will start the regular season Oct. 13 at St. Louis and play their home opener two days later against another Central Division foe, Winnipeg.

The NHL released the schedule Tuesday, pitting the Wild against Eastern Conference opponents in 10 of their first 16 games. Nine of their first 14 contests are on the road, where they'll also be for the last two games: at Colorado April 6 and at Arizona April 8.

The Wild will host Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Nov. 25, their customary day-after-Thanksgiving matinee. They also have a franchise-record eight-game homestand set for Feb. 8-27, which includes both of the Minnesota matchups against rival Chicago. That's the only Central Division opponent they play only four times. The face the others five times each.
