Teen charged with robbing pizza delivery driver in Waukegan
A teen has been charged with robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint last month in Waukegan, police said Thursday.
Around 8 p.m. May 25, a delivery driver told Waukegan police that he was delivering food on the 4100 block of Continental Drive when he was approached by two black boys, according to a news release. One pulled a handgun and demanded money and pizza, police said. The driver was not injured.
Both suspects were described as being around 5-feet 4-inches and slim. One was wearing a red jacket and white Nike shorts, and he had acne on his cheeks. The other boy was wearing a black and gold sweatshirt with a Chicago Bulls emblem in gold and light blue jeans.
On June 9, officers made contact with a 16-year-old who had a probation warrant. He was charged with aggravated robbery and is in custody at the Hulse Detention Center in Vernon Hills.
