Glen Ellyn Wheaton Community Associates board travels to Oregon, Mount Morris
The 2015-2016 executive board of the Glen Ellyn Wheaton Community Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago traditionally completes their year in office by gathering together and participating in a field trip to an Illinois area known for special local art.
This year's trip was to Mount Morris and Oregon, Illinois.
Twenty-three Community Associates board members gathered around the Laredo Taft statue of Black Hawk, the Indian who watches over the Rock River Valley while standing on Eagle's Nest Bluff.
The statue was constructed by Taft beginning in 1908 as an homage to the American Indians who settled this area of Illinois.
