Jets coach Bowles helping raise money for cancer patients

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - New York Jets coach Todd Bowles will be joining former Washington and Denver coach Mike Shanahan along with other NFL coaches and former players to raise money for the foundation named in honor of the late Mike Heimerdinger.

The fifth annual Drive4Dinger celebrity golf tournament will be held Friday at the Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club with spots still available. Tickets also are available for the dinner and fundraising auction Saturday featuring country singer and cancer survivor Wade Hayes.

The Drive 4 Dinger benefits the Heimerdinger Foundation's Meals2Heal, which delivers organic food to people undergoing cancer treatment at no cost. Heimerdinger, who was an assistant coach with Denver, the Jets and the Tennessee Titans in two different stints, died of cancer in 2011.
