'Art and Life of Nancy Carrigan' Friday at Water Street Studios
On Saturday, June 4, Water Street Studios, 160 S. Water St. in Batavia, will present the "Art and Life of Nancy Carrigan" from 3 to 5 p.m.
Robert Kameczura, noted artist and critic, as well as a close personal friend of Carrigan, will give a lecture on her art and life as part of the closing reception of her retrospective show. Known for his witty and informative lectures on art, he will speak of Carrigan's life and the themes and methods of her art. He will share many personal anecdotes about Carrigan.
Kameczura states, "Nancy Carrigan was not only a wonderful artist but a woman of great wit, a first rate poet and novelist, a great cook, a devoted wife and mother, a great lover of animals, a woman with enormous curiosity and a person with deep concerns touching on many areas related to social justice. I will do my best to try and bring her to life. She was a remarkable and delightful person."
There is a $5 suggested donation for all nonmembers. Visit www.waterstreetstudios.org.
