Police: Woman shot in Streamwood home

A woman was taken to a hospital Saturday evening after suffering a gunshot wound.

Streamwood firefighters were called for a person who had been shot about 7 p.m. to a home on Redwood Court, north of Route 19 and west of Barrington Road, in the Meadows subdivision.

Battalion Chief Steven Tomczik said the woman was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates and was stable with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Streamwood police were not immediately available for comment on the circumstances involving the shooting.
