Panthers owner Richardson to have another shoulder surgery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Carolina Panthers owner and founder Jerry Richardson will have a second operation on his shoulder to repair a rotator cuff injury.

Team physician Pat Connor will perform the surgery on Thursday in Charlotte.

Richardson initially had surgery to repair the shoulder in March, but team spokesman Steven Drummond told The Associated Press that Richardson reinjured the shoulder during while rehabbing.

The 79-year-old Richardson had a heart transplant in 2009.
