Driver hits gas instead of brakes, crashes into Addison store

A driver who mistook the gas pedal for the brakes drove Monday morning into the front window of a Greek food store in Addison, the store's owner said.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. at Minos Imported Foods, 648 W. Lake St., but didn't injure anyone, said John Bertakis, the store's owner.

"It's a good thing nobody was behind the glass because all the glass came into the store," Bertakis said.

The windows have since been boarded up, and the store was able to remain open for business, he said.
