Our social decay chronicled on iPhone
While some of our leaders continue to apologize to the world for the United States, let me apologize to our youngest generation. I am sorry that neighbors are now included in the category of "strangers."
I am sorry you can't go down the block alone. I am sorry you are not safe in your schools, sporting events, your church, transportation hubs or national landmarks. I am sorry that newscasters are asking if you are in the room and that the video about to be shown is "disturbing." I am sorry that you are being taught to fear the police and those that are trained to protect you.
I am sorry that even though all religions acknowledge a Greater Existence, they can't acknowledge the rights for differing interpretations. But most of all I am sorry that the country I hand over to you, is chronicling its social decay on your iPhone.
I failed, we failed.
