Lincolnshire Resort & Theatre under new management

Known throughout the Chicago North Shore area as a prime venue for launching premiere productions into the regional market, the Marriott Theatre, along with the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, is now under the management of The Bricton Group. With a diverse portfolio of more than 2,500 hotel rooms across the U.S., the company - which owns a stake in the resort - manages, develops and acquires new and existing properties.

The Bricton Group, which has partnered with Marriott on multiple properties over the past decades, is currently managing the 175-acre resort, which features 389 guest rooms, 40,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and outdoor venues, an 18-hole championship golf course and the Marriott Theatre, which has the largest subscription base of any live musical theater in the country, according to the company.

"This is one of the more famous properties in the Chicagoland area, and we're proud to be a part of it," said Edward Doherty, president of The Bricton Group, based near Chicago. "Managing the hotel, the golf club and the theater is a natural extension of our experience in operating hotels on the North Shore and dovetails well with our track record in managing the Chicago Marriott Naperville and Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa in Galena."

Part of the new management team at the hotel includes General Manager Eric Bates, who has worked for The Bricton Group for eight years and Marriott for 15.

Bates has experience with resort properties, including his most recent position at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa, which features a multitude of recreational offerings, including three 18-hole golf courses.

Over the years, the resort and theater have held a variety of cross-promotional initiatives - including dinner and theater packages, family events with cast members and corporate events and meetings - in conjunction with theater productions.

Part of The Bricton Group's vision, the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort will undergo a $22 million renovation planned for late 2016 or early 2017.

The renovation will cover all aspects of the resort, including upgrades to the exterior of the building, new signage, King's Wharf restaurant, and public spaces including the lobby and guest rooms.

"The Marriot Lincolnshire has been an archetypical business and resort facility, strategically located in the Chicagoland area," said Emmanuel Shamoun, director of consulting, The Gettys Group. "Its proximity to the north side was reflective in its expanse of land and in its low-rise architecture. This renovation exercise will fully respect its original architectural style and, at the same time, modernize the facility with the most current amenities and themes to build upon its success and carry it forward for many years to come."

The Gettys Group, based in Chicago, will conceive the resort's new interior design. The Gettys Group plans to incorporate modern amenities and ease of services for guests while enhancing existing facilities with updated materials, according to Shamoun. "Marriott Lincolnshire has become a business and leisure destination for the Chicagoland area and guests expect this facility to provide the technology, amenities and sense of space in par with the other hotels in this region," he said.
