Let forest preserve horses retire

Really, again?

Does the DuPage County Forest Preserve District think we don't realize what they are doing with the draft horses, Jack & Darryl, at Kline? They will move them to another facility, where no one knows them or cares about them and then they will "disappear" just like the horses last summer that ended up being slaughtered.

The director, Robert Lahey, can then, again, say that this wasn't supposed to have happened.

And don't hide behind the excuse that the procedures aren't finalized yet.

Here are all the procedures that are needed: Let the horses retire where they have worked for us all these years. Then, for once, our tax dollars will be doing something we can feel proud of.

We need people in office who have as much respect for the voters, as they do compassion for the animals under their charge.
