Wheaton man dies in motorcycle crash on I-290

A 31-year-old Wheaton man was killed Saturday morning in a motorcycle crash on the Eisenhower Expressway.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him as Christopher Shelhamer, ABC 7 Chicago reported.

The outbound Eisenhower Expressway was closed west of Kostner Avenue for a time after the crash around 8:45 a.m. as police investigated. Drivers were being detoured and extensive delays resulted.

No other vehicles were involved, Illinois State Police reported earlier.

Lanes reopened around 1 p.m.
