Men's basketball: Welke resigns at Harper
After two seasons as men's basketball coach at Harper College, Dr. Justin Welke tendered his resignation Thursday, citing a desire "to pursue other career and coaching interests."
The Hawks finished 20-42 over the last two seasons and were 11-20 in the 2015-16 season.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time - the student-athletes, and the entire athletics department," Welke said in a statement.
Harper athletic director Doug Spiwak says he's looking to fill the position as soon as possible.
In his tenure, Welke coached two all-North Central Community College Conference players in Davion Benton and, this winter, Marcus Gatlin, along with four academic All-Americans.
