Aurora man facing attempted murder charges in bar stabbing
Bail was set at $150,000 Thursday for an Aurora man facing attempted murder charges after police said he stabbed a man Tuesday in a confrontation over a woman.
Michael W. Moser-Booth, of the 2300 block of Goldenrod Court, also is charged with two counts of aggravated battery in connection with the stabbing of a 24-year-old Chicago man inside a bar on the 700 block of Hill Avenue.
Police said Moser-Booth, 35, entered the bar and confronted the man who was with a group of people, including a woman both men knew. An argument ensued over the woman before Moser-Booth took out a knife, threatened to kill the man, then stabbed him in the neck.
Moser-Booth ran from the bar after the stabbing but was tackled in the parking lot and detained by an off-duty Aurora police officer who had witnessed the stabbing, police said. When other officers arrived, Moser-Booth was taken into custody while still holding the knife.
The victim was taken to an Aurora hospital to be treated for critical injuries.
