Vero Voce Theater presents 'The Outsiders' April 15-24

Vero Voce Theater in St. Charles proudly presents S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders" at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 6 p.m. Sundays, April 15-24, in the theater, 951 State Ave.

The play is narrated by 14-year-old Ponyboy Curtis, who lives with his two older brothers, Soda-Pop & Darry, and his gang of "Greasers." The story follows their struggles and conflicts with social separation and being judged by social rich kids called "Socs."

"The Outsiders" is directed by artistic director David M. Rodriguez, with assistant director Sofia Barbosa and produced by co-owners Dawn Harkins and Dennis Brown, and featuring stage combat by Tony Pellegrino.

The cast includes: Vivien Cohen, Tim Gustin, and JD Rodriguez, all of Batavia; Charlie Karner of Elgin; Christina Rausch of Maple Park; Cole Mensik of Roselle; Sofia Barbosa, Madigan Borborci, Riley Brutto, Katie Czajka, Aaron Delaney, Ben Hommowun, Max Laraia, Liam McCarron, Jake Murphy, Allison Neilsen, and Maddie VanSickle, all of St. Charles; and Kayla Bussert and Jackie Majure, both of South Elgin.

Tickets are $18, $15 seniors and students or $10 for children, age 12 and under. General admission may be purchased online at www.verovoce.com or by calling (630) 584-0139. All major credit cards accepted. Reservations are recommended.

Vero Voce Theater was established in 2012 drawing some of the best non-equity actors in Chicago and the western suburbs. The versatile 100-seat theater space allows many different configurations and creativity is aided by the use of projected images. Its main stage series has some of the best plays and musicals in the area.
