Preckwinkle, Curran speaking Sunday on justice reform

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Public Defender Amy Campanelli and Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran will speak to the inherent inequities in the criminal justice system and proposed solutions 4 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Temple Jeremiah, 937 Happ Road in Northfield.

"Criminal Justice - A Conversation on Race, Morality and Faith" will be moderated by Jennifer Vollen-Katz, executive director of the John Howard Association.

"The inequities in the criminal justice system are seen and felt on a daily basis in our communities," said Barb Miller, Temple Jeremiah's executive vice president and social justice chair. "We need to understand the issues and find ways to improve the system."

The discussion is free and open to the public.
