Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine award recipient announced
Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University announces Beth Jarrett, DPM, of Vernon Hills, IL, as the 2016 recipient of the Honor Medallion and Alumnus of the Year awards.
Bestowed by Scholl College and its Alumni Association, the honors were announced during the annual Scholl Scholarship Benefit and Networking Reception held April 1 during the Midwest Podiatry Conference, held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
Dr. Jarrett has dedicated her professional life to podiatric medicine, her medical alma mater, students and patients. She earned a doctor of podiatric medicine degree in 1985 from Scholl College, where she has taught for more than 20 years, primarily in the areas of biomechanics and orthopedics. An associate professor, she is also associate dean of clerkship and residency placement and coordinates the Biomechanics and Second Year Orthotic Lab courses. She serves on university committees including admissions, curriculum and assessment.
Working to advance the podiatric profession through national leadership roles, Dr. Jarrett has served on the board of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine, including two years as president. She is a member of the written examination committee for the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and a reviewer for The Foot, the official journal of the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics & Medicine. She has also helped to lead several national committees. Dr. Jarrett was twice named among "America's Most Influential Podiatrists" by Podiatry Management Magazine.
