LunaFest, established in 2000 by Luna, makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, to simultaneously promote women filmmakers, raise awareness for women's issues and support worthy women's nonprofit organizations is a traveling film festival of award-winning short films by, for and about women.

This season's program of six selected films will compel discussion, make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings and motivate you to make a difference in your community. Incredibly diverse in style and content, LunaFest is united by a common thread of exceptional storytelling - by, for and about women. The total run time of this season's program is just under 90 minutes. These films will travel to over 175 cities and screen in front of 25,000 people.

Each year, various organizations bring LunaFests to their communities and raise funds for their local non-profits as well as the Breast Cancer Fund.

The Zonta Club of St. Charles-Geneva-Batavia is thrilled to have been awarded the opportunity again this year to bring this fabulous event to our area. Please join us for a wonderful evening of film at the downtown St. Charles Arcada Theater on April 12!

This special fundraising event will benefit the programs sponsored by the Zonta Club of St. Charles-Geneva-Batavia and The Breast Cancer Fund. The Zonta Club is a local, volunteer service organization dedicated to empowering women locally and globally. Fundraising proceeds directly benefit scholarships for local women and girls; grants for local service agencies working to eradicate domestic violence; and international programs that help empower and protect women who are seeking literacy, proper education, have HIV, are injured by complications from substandard care during childbirth, are victims of gender-based violence and human trafficking.
