No-wake order issued for Bangs Lake
A no-wake order been issued for Wauconda's Bangs Lake is expected to last through the weekend, officials said Friday. The order, which means boats and other watercraft must keep speeds low, was issued because recent rains have increased the lake's water level, officials said. And when the water surface is higher than usual, the water can erode shoreline soil. It's the first no-wake order of the year on the lake.
