Event to celebrate Schaumburg's diversity

The Schaumburg Park District and School District 54 will host the annual Garden of Diversity: Our Multicultural Heritage, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, April 9, at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg. Participants will enjoy face painting, crafts and activities related to different cultures.

"Children have a wonderful opportunity to experience different traditions during this event," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Center manager and general program supervisor. "They'll see performances, make crafts and try foods."

The event also features authentic performances by students and professionals including a Chinese Drum Corps, Bollywood Dancing, Japanese Chorus Club and much more.

Admission is free. Concessions are available for an additional charge.
