Women's Residential Services to mark anniversary
The Women's Residential Services program of the Lake County Health Department will celebrate its 30th anniversary from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the facility at 24647 N. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills. WRS is a residential treatment program for chemically dependent women and their children established through funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services. It has provided services to 2,395 women and 1,204 children since its inception. The event includes a facility tour, presentation at 2:30 p.m. by organization leaders, stories by WRS alumni and light snacks. To RSVP contact Leslie Piotrowski at (847) 377-8055 by April 12.
