Galaxy Bowl seeks teams to strike against homelessness

Thirty teams will compete to support DuPagePads' 30-year fight against homelessness at the 14th annual Galaxy Bowl from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Fox Bowl, 1101 Butterfield Road, Wheaton.

Funds raised at the Galaxy Bowl support DuPagePads' programs that provide housing, coupled with support services and employment assistance to aid families and individuals who are homeless in DuPage County. Five-person teams are asked to raise a minimum of $500 and compete to win trophies for team bowling scores and fundraising. A fundraising Web page is set up for each team to collect donations.

At the Galaxy Bowl, bowlers receive a T-shirt, pizza, soda and ice cream and have the chance to win prizes through a raffle and silent auction.

The West Suburban Alumni Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International has been participating in DuPagePads bowl for more than six years and continually brings multiple teams each year.

"Our group's mission is service to the community and helping them is a great way for our members to give back," said B.J. Maley, attorney and Phi Alpha Delta member.

A few open lanes remain. To register, contact (630) 682-3846, ext. 2290, or KLazansky@dupagepads.org. For information, visit dupagepads.org.
