Schaumburg Golf Club opening Saturday

Golf season is early this year at the Schaumburg Park District, with the 27-hole Schaumburg Golf Club opening this Saturday, March 12. Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m.

Golfers have Mother Nature to thank for the mild winter and early spring temperatures behind one of the earliest-ever opening dates.

Through April 6, cost is $25 for 18 holes and $40 with cart. Nine holes is $10 and $17.50 with cart. Course features include a practice range with putting and chipping greens, pro shop, professional golf instruction and Chandlers Chophouse restaurant.

The club is at 401 N. Roselle Road. Walnut Greens, a 9-hole par 3 course, will open at a later date.
