Panthers tender Mike Remmers, re-sign WR Stephen Hill

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The Carolina Panthers have tendered restricted free agent right tackle Mike Remmers, who allowed two Von Miller sacks resulting in fumbles in the Super Bowl.

The Panthers also announced Monday that they have re-signed wide receiver Stephen Hill to a one-year contract.

The Panthers are 22-4 with Remmers as their starting right tackle, but he struggled on the game's biggest stage. Both of Miller's strip-sacks led to Denver touchdowns in the Broncos' 24-10 victory.

Remmers started all 16 games last season at right tackle, helping the Panthers set team records with 500 points and 59 total touchdowns. Carolina ranked second in the NFL with 142.6 rushing yards per game.

Hill spent last season on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in training camp.
