Can't afford Lauzen

Dawn Barsanti's letter about her new boss Chris Lauzen shows how inefficient he is. He keeps increasing our budget by hiring his friends for new jobs that were not needed in the past when our taxes were reasonable. Giving them large salaries and large raises over the past three years adding up to 15 percent for some, more than they would get elsewhere.

Other communities have cut back on staff. His constituents meanwhile, many have gotten no increases and cannot afford his extravagances. I for one have not never even gotten the $100,000 newspaper he puts out.

Saying he froze property taxes while increasing the values of our homes, in fact increases taxes we pay. My increase is 20 percent while the value of my home and others, has gone down not up.

Ken Shepro would like to give us back money as the county has a large reserve fund from collecting too much from us these past few years. Lauzen says and I quote, "I've never gone there because I know you can never satisfy the appetite. If you give them back $1 they want $2." Is this a man we want running the board?

I can't afford him, can you?
