Career pols rely on ignorance, indifference
Simple question - define "term limits." In my humble opinion, term limits were meant to be just that - a term of time, not a career. The president has a term limit of eight years. That is a definite "term."
Currently, our national and state, too, senators and representatives have "term limits" which, now, mean absolutely nothing. Look at Orin Hatch, Mitch McConnell, etc. as just a few examples of career politicians. Term does not equate to career. Unfortunately, money, influence, and favors, buy these people, and this goes for Democrats, Republicans, anyone, anywhere, their stints in office, and it is just plain wrong on any level.
But, these politicians rely on the vast ignorance and indifference of so many people. A perfect example is the government of our state. People keep electing the same officials and expect different results. And, what do we get - the royal shaft. This is proof of the ignorance and indifference and the monetary influence that dictate who gets in office.
