Trump, Clinton claim big Super Tuesday victories
Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump both claimed victories in several primaries on Super Tuesday, including Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and Virginia. U.S. EPA leans on Illinois to resume emissions test requirement
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is warning the Illinois EPA it could face sanctions with its decision to allow drivers to renew their license plates without getting an emissions test. New trial for man convicted of throwing mother over stair rail
The First District Appellate Court yesterday reversed the conviction of a man who was convicted of first-degree murder three years ago in the 2006 death of his elderly mother in Arlington Heights. Wayne Weinke Jr., 60, was convicted of pushing his mother over a banister into a stairwell after a disagreement. Full story.
Carpentersville woman accused of kidnapping, torture in Elgin
Elgin police arrested a 19-year-old Carpentersville woman, and are looking for others, involved in the kidnapping and torture of another teen in the 300 block of Raymond Street in Elgin over the weekend. Megan Lino, of the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue, faces multiple felony charges. Full story.
Elk Grove police dog will be replaced after biting handler
An Elk Grove Village police K-9 who bit his officer in the arm after completing a field training vehicle search Feb. 24 will be replaced, authorities confirmed yesterday. The 3-year-old Belgian Malinois, named Sem, was Tasered to get him off officer Eric Perkins who is recovering from the incident. Full story.

Miami hits 67.5% from field to set Bulls defensive futility record
Derrick Rose returned to the lineup after missing three games with right-hamstring tendinitis. But the Bulls were historically bad on defense last night and lost to the Miami Heat 129-111.
